Resolving Common Technical Issues
Even the most reliable software occasionally encounters hiccups. The good news is that many common issues have simple solutions you can implement yourself without waiting for support. This comprehensive troubleshooting guide walks you through the most frequently encountered problems and their fixes, helping you get back to work quickly.
Login and Authentication Issues
Problems accessing your account are among the most common issues users face. If you're having trouble logging in, start with the basics before assuming there's a major problem. Verify you're entering the correct email address—it's easy to accidentally use a different email than the one associated with your account. Double-check your password, paying attention to capitalization and ensuring caps lock isn't accidentally enabled. Passwords are case-sensitive, and even a single incorrect character will prevent login.
If you're certain your credentials are correct but still can't log in, try clearing your browser's cache and cookies. Corrupted cache files can interfere with the login process. After clearing cache, close your browser completely and reopen it before attempting to log in again. If you're using a password manager, verify it's filling in the correct credentials and not outdated information from a previous password.
When you see an error message stating your account is locked, this typically occurs after multiple failed login attempts as a security measure. Wait 30 minutes before trying again, or use the "Forgot Password" link to reset your password immediately. Account lockouts are temporary and designed to protect your account from unauthorized access attempts.
✓ Quick Login Fix
If you're struggling with login issues, try accessing the platform in an incognito or private browsing window. This eliminates browser cache, cookies, and extensions as potential causes. If login works in incognito mode, the problem is likely related to your browser's stored data or an extension interference—clear your cache or disable extensions one by one to identify the culprit.
Page Loading Problems
When pages load slowly or not at all, the issue could stem from your internet connection, browser, or the platform itself. First, test your internet connection by visiting other websites. If those load normally, the issue is likely specific to our platform. If other sites are also slow, contact your internet service provider or try resetting your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds.
Browser-related loading issues are often resolved by refreshing the page with a hard refresh, which bypasses the cache. On Windows, press Ctrl + F5. On Mac, press Cmd + Shift + R. This forces your browser to download fresh copies of all page elements rather than using potentially outdated cached versions. If hard refresh doesn't help, try clearing your browser cache entirely, then restart your browser.
Sometimes browser extensions interfere with page loading, particularly ad blockers, privacy extensions, or script blockers. Temporarily disable extensions to see if pages load properly without them. If disabling extensions resolves the issue, enable them one at a time to identify which specific extension is causing the conflict. You can usually whitelist our platform in the problematic extension's settings.
Features Not Working as Expected
When a feature suddenly stops working or behaves differently than usual, several factors could be at play. Start by verifying you have the necessary permissions to use that feature. Some functionality is restricted to certain user roles or subscription plans. Check with your account administrator if you think you should have access but don't.
Outdated software can cause compatibility issues. Ensure you're using the latest version of our application. For web-based access, verify you're using a current browser version. For mobile apps, check your app store for available updates. We continuously release updates that fix bugs and improve functionality, so staying current is important for optimal performance.
Browser compatibility matters more than many users realize. While we strive to support all major browsers, some features work best in certain browsers. If you're experiencing issues in one browser, try accessing the platform in a different browser to see if the problem persists. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge all have full feature support, but occasionally browser-specific bugs occur.
Error Messages and What They Mean
Error messages can seem cryptic, but they often provide valuable clues about what's wrong. A "Session Expired" message means you've been logged out due to inactivity. Simply log in again to continue working. For security, we automatically end sessions after a period of inactivity. You can adjust session timeout settings in your account preferences if you frequently encounter this message.
"Permission Denied" errors indicate you're trying to access content or perform actions your account doesn't have authorization for. Contact your account administrator to request access, or verify you're logged into the correct account if you have multiple accounts. Sometimes users accidentally switch to a different workspace or organization where they have limited permissions.
A "Network Error" or "Connection Lost" message means the platform couldn't communicate with our servers. This is usually a temporary connectivity issue. Check your internet connection and try again in a few moments. If the error persists, our servers might be experiencing issues—check our status page or social media for updates on any ongoing outages.
File Upload and Download Issues
Problems with file operations are commonly caused by file size or format restrictions. Verify your file doesn't exceed the maximum size limit, which varies by plan—typically 10MB for free accounts, 100MB for basic plans, and 1GB or more for premium accounts. Check that your file format is supported—we accept most common formats, but some specialized or proprietary formats may not be compatible.
If uploads consistently fail partway through, your internet connection might be unstable. Large file uploads require a stable connection throughout the entire upload process. Use a wired ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi if possible, or try uploading during off-peak hours when internet traffic is lighter. Some users find success by compressing large files before uploading to reduce transfer time and minimize the chance of connection interruptions.
Download failures often occur when your browser's download folder doesn't have sufficient space, or when security software blocks the download. Check your available disk space and ensure you have several gigabytes free for large downloads. Temporarily disable antivirus or firewall software to see if they're interfering with downloads, remembering to re-enable protection afterward.
Search Not Returning Expected Results
When search functionality isn't working as expected, the issue is often related to how search queries are structured rather than a technical malfunction. Search is typically case-insensitive, so capitalization shouldn't matter, but special characters might affect results. Try simplifying your search query by using single keywords rather than complete phrases. If searching for an exact phrase, enclose it in quotation marks.
Search indexing can take time after new content is added. If you just created or modified something and can't find it in search, wait 5-10 minutes for the search index to update, then try again. Our search system refreshes periodically rather than instantly to maintain performance. You can usually find recently created items by browsing your recent activity or the content area where it was created.
Filters applied to search results might be limiting what you see. Check for any active filters and clear them to see all results. Some users forget they've applied date ranges, content types, or other filters that exclude the items they're looking for. Resetting search filters to default often reveals the missing content.
Notifications Not Arriving
Missing notifications can cause you to miss important updates or messages. First, verify notification settings in your account preferences. You might have accidentally disabled specific notification types or changed delivery methods. Check both in-app notification settings and email notification preferences—they're controlled separately.
Email notifications might be caught by spam filters. Check your spam or junk mail folder for messages from our platform. If you find notifications there, mark them as "not spam" and add our email address to your contacts to prevent future filtering. Some email providers aggressively filter automated messages, so whitelisting our domain ensures reliable delivery.
For mobile app notifications, ensure you've granted notification permissions to the app in your device settings. On iOS, go to Settings > Notifications > [App Name] and verify notifications are allowed. On Android, go to Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Notifications and ensure they're enabled. Also check that your device isn't in Do Not Disturb mode, which silences notifications system-wide.
Syncing Problems
When data doesn't sync properly between devices or the web version and mobile apps, several steps can resolve the issue. Force a manual sync by pulling down to refresh on mobile apps or clicking the sync icon if available. Sometimes the automatic sync doesn't trigger, and a manual refresh resolves discrepancies immediately.
Ensure you're logged into the same account on all devices. It sounds obvious, but users occasionally have multiple accounts and don't realize they're viewing different workspaces on different devices. Verify the email address you're logged in with matches across all platforms.
Check your internet connection on the device showing outdated information. Sync requires an active internet connection, and poor connectivity can prevent updates from being received. Switch from cellular to Wi-Fi or vice versa to see if connection quality is the issue. Close and reopen the app to force a fresh connection and sync attempt.
Performance and Lag Issues
If the platform feels sluggish or unresponsive, performance issues could stem from your device, browser, or our servers. Check your device's available memory and close unnecessary applications. When your computer or phone has limited available RAM, performance suffers across all applications. On desktop computers, check Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (Mac) to see if other applications are consuming excessive resources.
Browser tab overload can significantly impact performance. Modern web applications consume memory, and having dozens of tabs open taxes your system. Close tabs you're not actively using, or at minimum, close tabs running other web applications. Consider using browser extensions that automatically suspend inactive tabs to free up memory.
Large projects or workspaces with thousands of items can load slowly. If you notice performance issues in specific projects, try archiving completed items or old content you no longer need active. Breaking large projects into smaller ones can also improve performance. We continuously optimize for large-scale usage, but practical limits exist for how much data can be quickly processed.
When to Contact Support
While many issues can be resolved with these troubleshooting steps, some situations require support intervention. Contact us if you've tried the relevant troubleshooting steps without success, the issue prevents you from accessing critical functionality, you're receiving error messages that don't match any described here, or you suspect the problem affects multiple users or your entire organization.
When you do contact support, provide detailed information to help us resolve your issue quickly: describe what you were trying to do when the problem occurred, list the troubleshooting steps you've already tried, include any error messages you received (screenshots are helpful), specify your browser type and version or device and app version, and mention if the issue started after a specific event like an update or change in settings.
The more information you provide upfront, the faster our support team can diagnose and resolve your issue. Generic descriptions like "it's not working" require multiple back-and-forth messages to clarify, whereas detailed information often allows us to provide a solution in the first response.
